After Bart throws the ball at Homer, it magically reappears in the corner
of the room. (Can you say, ``recycled animation''?)

> Assorted comments and observations

Brian Howard {bh} gives the timing for this short as 1:10, whereas the
syndication package contains only 1:02 of animation.

Brian Howard reports that the final line is Marge saying, ``Isn't that sweet.''
Maybe this is something they changed at the last minute.

% H = Homer, M = Marge, B = Bart, L = Lisa
%
% {Curly braces} enclose portions removed for syndication.
%
% Marge sits on the couch knitting, while Homer stands by the door.

H: I've had it up to here with those kids!
M: Calm down, dear.
H: They're driving me out of my mind! That's why I bought this book on
   hypmotism. [sic] [shows book]
M: What?
H: I'll hypmotize 'em. Maybe then we can get some peace and quiet
   around here!
M: I don't know, Homer. The kids get kind of rambunctious sometimes,
   but I think that's norm{al.}
H: {A little} rambunctious? They're bouncin' off the walls!

% Homer opens the door, and we peer inside. As he described, Bart and
% Lisa are indeed bouncing off the walls. (Maggie just sits on the floor.)
% Lisa sings, ``La-la-la-la-la'' while Bart goes ``Blubdublubdublub''.
% Homer shuts the door.

M: I'll hold 'em, you hypnotize 'em.

% [End of Act One. Time: 0:20]
%
% Marge and Homer are in the play room, the three kids standing together.
% Homer brandishes a watch on a chain.

M: Look, children! We have a treat for you!
H: You're going to get hypmotized!

% The watch dangles in front of the kids, who watch it swing back and forth.

M: Now look at the watch.
H: You're getting sleepy. Sleeeeeepy.
M: Sleepy.

% Close-up on Lisa's eye as it watches the watch, then closes.

M: Verrry sleeeepy...

% All three kids have shut their eyes. Bart snores.

H: From now on, you will be gooood little children.

% The three kids nod.

M: It's working!
H: They're not brats any more!

% The kids each open one eye and exchange glances.

M: Gasp!

% The kids wander around the room Frankenstein-like.

M: Oh no! They're zombies!

% {The kids fall on the floor laughing.}

H: {Laughing zombies!}

% [End of Act Two. Time: 0:46]
%
% The kids sit on the floor, somewhat dazed from their ``ordeal''.

L: Hoo boy, that was a doozy!

% Bart pats his head, trying to recover.

H: Are you kids okay?
B: Oh, man. Where am I?
M: We'll never try to modify your behavior again.
L: [brightly] Okay, I'm better!
B: Back to normal!

% The kids resume bouncing off the walls.

M: Awww...
H: Fine bunch of kids, aren't they.
B: Think fast, Homer!

% Bart pitches a ball into Homer's ample stomach. Then he returns to
% bouncing off the walls.

M: Homer, go get that watch again.

% [End of Act Three. Time: 1:02]
