No no, this is all off the topic.  How to TALK TO, not LISTEN TO your cat.

For instance, here's some phrases I use to talk to cats:

"Here pussy, pussy, pussy,  look at this luverly claw hammer, I bet you're going
to blink soon!"

"Here Puss, puss,  Now you stand dead still in the middle of this road, while
I go get the car.  I Promise I'll turn - not like last time, but you better
stand still, not like last time..."
