addition to pulling their normal airshift, today's jocks are often asked to
record everything a disc jockey would say in a four hour period in 10
minutes, to be played back by computer automation on another time slot or
station. Sometimes, it's more than one show or station... This practice is
called "voice tracking",
and is just one more way management squeezes more work out of us, saving
more money in salaries, improving the bottom line for the stockholders, and
ultimately earning big bonuses for management who take big vacations. |
